Old World Meets New World Technology
for an Entirely Different Wine

Concrete is a collaboration of Winemakers Barry Gnekow and Joseph Smith partnered with Tyson Rippey and is named for the 1940’s concrete fermenting tank in which a portion of the wine is fermented.

Many of the world’s highest rated and most expensive wines are made in concrete tanks, some of which are nearly a century old. Flash Détente is a cutting edge winemaking technology that only a handful of wineries possess in North America. To create Concrete wines, we have combined the use of Flash Détente technology during processing, 70+ year old concrete tanks during fermentation and American and French oak barrels during aging. We have married old and new to produce exceptional Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon wines that truly break the mold.

This Old World meets New World technology results in rich, layered, juicy, textured wine that explodes with flavor in the mouth, delivering the patent-pending flavor profile they call the “Vertical Palate.”

Concrete’s innovative blend of technology crafts a $20 value wine that tastes like a $50+ wine.
