2016 Pinot Gris

Sourced exclusively from The Benches Vineyard at Wallula (1,400 feet above the Columbia River), where a constant breeze moderates temperatures to capture fresh flavors and give the wine its vibrant mouth feel. A light squeeze of the grapes on the press and a cool fermentation is used to enhance the Pinot Gris’ racy character.

Appealing floral aromas lead to flavors of guava, grapefruit, honey dew melon and lime zest with a hint of spice. The wine’s viscous mouthfeel is balanced nicely by its crisp acidity.

2016 Riesling

Sourced from German clone plantings and some of the Columbia Valley’s oldest Riesling vines, this wine offers classic and distinctive Riesling character. Notes of citrus, jasmine, pear and honeydew melon combine with an appealing level of minerality and acidity to provide a fresh and lengthy finish.

2016 Chardonnay

Elegant, fresh and inviting with a vibrancy that elevates its minerality, quince and white peach flavors. The wine’s viscosity and bright acidity interconnect well with each other to provide balance and a lingering finish.

The 2016 Nine Hats Chardonnay was sourced primarily from the Yakima Valley’s French Creek and Boushey vineyards. It is a cooler AVA that helps retain the Chardonnay’s acidity and elegance. The wine was aged for 9 months on the lees in French oak barrels and cement eggs.

2015 Red Wine

A multi-layered blend with complex flavors and vibrant aromas of black cherries, red currants and sweet oak spices. This wine offers a wonderfully rich and refined texture from its core of Syrah. Cabernet Sauvignon from the Benches Vineyard at Wallula in the Horse Heaven Hills provides a sturdy backbone and long, pure finish.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

Vibrant aromatics of black cherry, espresso beans and bittersweet chocolate introduce this richly structured Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a multi-layered wine with expressive flavors of black and red berries complemented by notes of savory spice. Its luscious mouthfeel persists across a lengthy finish.

Several vineyard sites throughout Horse Heaven Hills and the Wahluke Slope were selected to source the fruit that provides its depth and complexity. Aged eleven months in French oak prior to bottling.

2015 Syrah

Rewarding from the first taste, beautiful minerality is present on the nose with a rich mouthfeel of black raspberry, licorice and roasted coffee. A bold yet well balanced wine, this Columbia Valley Syrah is made from select vineyards that exhibit rich and distinctive varietal character. Red Mountain’s La Coye Vineyard gives the wine its structure and opulent full body. Stone Tree and Candy Mountain vineyards provide savory notes of smoked meats, tapenade and sage. Aged 18 months in 70% neutral, 30% new oak barrels.

2015 Malbec

Known for its distinctive black purple hue, this Columbia Valley Malbec hits the ground running with savory notes of cured meats, muddled blackberries and baking spice. The middle palate softens with a lingering acidity that provides a rounded mouthfeel and long finish. Sourced primarily from Weinbau Vineyard in the Wahluke Slope, this wine has the structure to carry its weight throughout while softening gracefully with age. Aged 18 months in 70% neutral, 30% new oak barrels.

2015 Merlot

This fruit-forward Columbia Valley Merlot offers classic flavors and aromas of black cherry, chocolate and bramble fruits. Rich tannins support the mid palate which is chock-full of spice and floral components from the Cabernet Franc. Sourced primarily from Candy Mountain Vineyard, this wine has bright acidity and structure that gives this Merlot a punch above its weight class. Aged 18 months in 70% neutral, 30% new oak barrels.
