The 2015 Fiend is perhaps our most concentrated vintage yet. Driven with sweet ripe plum, black mission figs with toasty oak notes of mocha, spice and vanilla. The intrigue continues with a full flavor profile of vine ripened fruit, Mexican chocolate and dusty soil; all supported with texture and framework from sturdy but integrated tannins.
Bright and pure aromas of cassis, black currant and black cherry with subtle notes of violet, vanilla and spice, lift from the glass. Flavors of fresh red fruit grace the palate, while spice notes of integrated French Oak, give the wine finesse and depth. The fullness and weight on the mid palate is lush and refined and balances well with the natural acidity and smooth tannins.
Dark and inky in color. Ripe notes of black berries, raspberry preserves and mission fig with an intriguing subtle floral lift coming from the 1% of Viognier. The mouthfeel is rich and lush with flavors of dark fruit and hints of white cake batter and cocoa. With outstanding concentration and density on the mid palate, the finish is balanced with savory acidity and integrated tannins which round out the wine, seamlessly.
Bright, with fresh acidity carrying orange zest, white flower, young pineapple with hints of melon and stone fruit. There is a nice weight to the mid body with flavors of citrus and tropical fruits intertwining throughout the length of the wine. All three varietals harmonize in sync and lead into a clean and refreshing finish.
