2020 Sauvignon Blanc

TASTING NOTES:

This inaugural release of 2020 Hindsight Sauvignon Blanc is an artfully crafted expression of classic Napa Valley Terroir – vibrant ripe stone fruit, green apple, lime peel, and hints of freshly cut grass backed by delicate floral highlights. The aromas jump right out of the glass! Subtle creamy notes are in perfect harmony with the crisp fresh entry and are accentuated by a citrus zest finish. The wine was blended with a touch of Viognier to give texture and to balance the myriad of elements for a wonderfully refreshing wine. Sunshine in a glass!

2019 Chardonnay

Tasting Notes

The whims of Mother Nature were on full display during the 2017 growing season…marked by ample winter rains, a mild spring, hail in June, and intermittent waves of summer heat. A third and final temperature spike in early September compelled a spirited pick from our hallmark block on Bald Mountain, with the end result being a delightfully delicious chardonnay displaying both richness and resolve. On the nose, the wine expresses notes of star jasmine and citrus, giving way to flavors that tempt the palate with a pleasing panoply of lemon candy, grapefruit zest, tropical fruit, and (wait for it…), a suggestion of bananas foster and crème brulée. Aged 17-months in 30% new French oak, the wine demonstrates a pleasingly light acidity to provide a refreshing counterpoint that balances the wine from start-to-finish. Teasingly inviting but refined in a way that memorable white burgundies can often be, the wine conjures up the dulcet tones of Fleetwood Mac’s sultry singer-songwriter, Christine McVie, who in her memorable hit, “You Make Loving Fun” compelled many of us who “never did believe in the ways of magic” to “…begin to wonder why.”

Bald Mountain, a neighbor of Mount Veeder, is situated in the Mayacamas Mountains on the western border of the Napa Valley. The south-facing vineyard sits at nearly 1600 feet above sea level, and offers stunning views of both the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, as well as of Marin’s Mt. Tamalpais to the south. Cool sunshine is abundant throughout the growing season, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly while varietal character evolves completely.

2020 Sea Slopes Chardonnay

Fragrant aromas of zesty lemon with notes of honeysuckle and white grapefruit are immediately evident, followed by a pleasing mineral character and a touch of toasted brioche. On the palate, it is fresh and lively with pronounced citrus tones and hints of white peach and apricot. The silky, smooth texture that reflects a deft hand in winemaking and the long, seamless finish completes beautiful Chardonnay.

2020 Los Tres Pacos, Tempranillo Petit Verdot, VdT Castilla, Spain

A succulent, juicy red bursting with ripe blackberry and a zesty, spice character. Criminally drinkable, its vibrant fruit driven style and easy balance make for the perfect anytime red.

Marbled steaks, BBQ ribs, wood oven pizza and gourmet burgers, well-aged cheese (like Stilton), and roasted rack of lamb. This wine stands up to spicy tapas and Mexican dishes.

2020 ‘Old Vine’ Pinot Noir

In the winery, we make cold macerations for 7 to 10 days and then ferment at temperatures of 20 to 25 ° C for 15 days, gentle extractions. 100% of the malolactic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and part of the wine is in contact with wood, mainly American oak.
Black cherry and violet characters mingle harmoniously with smoky warm spice. Hints of red cherries, raspberries, and strawberries are balanced with a touch of vanilla and leather. The wine has serious weight and structure while remaining perfectly balanced.
Pinot Noir is a perfect complement to the entire range of fish, of white to fatty, pasta, game birds, duck and pork with sweet sauces.

2020 Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cigar Box “Old Vine” Cabernet is a medium bodied stylish wine, which displays rich riped fruit characteristics. Intense flavors of black currant and plums mingle harmoniously with a subtle hint of spice and toasted coffee. The wine has a soft texture on the palate along with firm fine grain tannins and a long lingering finish.

The wine was aged for 6 months in a mixture of new, one year and two year seasoned French oak barrels.
